⏱ Night-before plan — Seerah & Lessons from Qur'an & Sunnah

Exams: Saturday 20 June 2026 (times TBD). A few hours is enough — this plan is ordered by marks-per-minute and deliberately skips things.

Split the evening roughly 50/50, Seerah first. Both papers reward narrative recall, not production: in Seerah you place events on a timeline and give the wisdom behind each; in Qur'an & Sunnah you retell four stories and pull the lesson out of each. Seerah — ~2–2.5 h

Don't read all 8 lessons front to back — there isn't time, and it isn't needed. Lock the timeline first; everything hangs off it.

  1. ~45 MINThe timeline is the skeleton: open the ⚡ Quick review page (or lesson 08) and drill the master timeline cold — birth 570 (Year of the Elephant) → first revelation 610 → Hijrah 622 → Badr 2 AH … → Conquest of Makkah 8 AH → Farewell Pilgrimage 10 AH. Add the key people table. Once you can place any event in order, every "when / what happened / who" question becomes attemptable.
  2. ~40 MINThe Makkan heavyweights — event + the wisdom: the Learn sections for L01 (orphanhood, Al-Amīn, marriage to Khadījah), L02 (first revelation in Ḥirāʾ, the earliest converts), L03 (persecution, the Abyssinia migration, the Year of Grief) and L04 (Ṭāʾif, the Isrāʾ & Miʿrāj, the ʿAqabah pledges). For each event keep one line of what happened + one wisdom. Skip the fine detail.
  3. ~30 MINMadinah & the battles — the numbers: L05 — the Hijrah and the 7 foundations of the Madinan state (masjid, brotherhood, the constitution …); then L06 battles as year → battle → key fact (Badr 2, Uḥud 3, Khandaq 5, Ḥudaybiyyah 6, Khaybar 7, Makkah 8, Tabūk 9).
  4. ~20 MINL07 — the Prophet ﷺ at home (his character and family life — likely short-answer), then run any lesson quiz you still feel shaky on. Whatever you miss is your gap list.
🎯 In the exam: for any Seerah question the scoring skeleton is event → date/context → the lesson behind it — even a thin answer in that shape collects marks.

Lessons from Qur'an & Sunnah — ~2 h

The paper is four stories. Retell each as a sequence, then name what it teaches — that is exactly what scores.

  1. ~30 MINThe four stories at a glance: open the ⚡ Quick review page (or lesson 06) and drill the Story → Sūrah → one-line lesson → source table until all four come instantly. This is the spine of the whole paper.
  2. ~50 MINOne pass per story — sequence + lesson: Yūsuf (the dream → the well → ʿAzīz's house → prison → interpreting the dreams → minister → reunion; patience & trust), Aṣḥāb al-Kahf (youths fleeing shirk, the cave, the long sleep, the dog; holding to tawḥīd), Mūsā & Khiḍr (the three incidents — boat, boy, wall — hidden wisdom behind apparent harm), and the Two Gardens (the grateful vs the arrogant owner; gratitude vs kufr of blessings).
  3. ~20 MINSources & key āyāt: revisit L01 on why the Qur'an tells stories, and check the provenance badges (course doc vs supplementary) plus the key āyah noted under each story — handy for citing a reference in an answer.

☀️ Exam morning

  1. Before the Seerah paper: skim (or print) the Seerah quick review — the master timeline and the year → battle table are the two things to have hot walking in. Nothing new.
  2. Between papers: the Qur'an & Sunnah quick review — the four-stories table, so each story's sequence and lesson is instantly retrievable.
